“Not all good dancers are great teachers, but Drasti meets the mark in both areas. She is focused, patient and genuinely interested in your growth. As a working parent with less time than I would like to practice each week, I appreciated that this was a low-pressure, judgment-free experience, in which Drasti met each dancer where they were. She continually emphasized that we were in this class to reignite and nurture our love for Indian classical dance, not to achieve perfectionism. I highly recommend Drasti's Bharatanatyam Intensive course!”

“Drasti is an amazing teacher with so much talent. She is so thoughtful and patient with her teaching style. She shows absolutely no judgement and encourages each student to dance according to her own style and pace. The bharatanatyam intensive choreography was appropriately challenging for previously trained classical dancers.”

“Amazing intensive! I especially loved the weekly adavu practice that helped retrain my body to have the form and posture of a bharatnatyam dancer again. Drasti is full of energy and an extremely dedicated teacher. She truly cares about her students enjoying themselves and progressing towards their goals. She is a beautiful choreographer, and has developed an extremely well-intentioned course for trained bharatnatyam dancers that are interested in reviving their practice.”

“The last time I danced was in college close to 20 years ago. I had been looking for a way to get back into dancing and I am so happy I learned about Drasti's classes! After having three kids, I felt I had lost a lot my core strength. I had been previously trained in Bharatanatyam and was looking for a class that allowed me to challenge myself yet give me the grace I needed with getting back into dance after so long. This is exactly what I got from Drasti and her classes! They were so structured .....yet she valued where everyone was in their journey...it felt like such a safe place to learn. I am so excited to begin my dancing journey again and I look forward to taking more classes with Drasti in the future!”

“Drasti's Bharatanatyam Intensive class sounds intimidating, but it really was such a pleasure to dance and learn alongside other adult women, from all walks of life, in a non-judgmental environment. Everyone was there to have fun and get back in touch with the dancer in them. I can't wait for the next class!”

“Dancing bharatnatyam again after almost 11 years seems daunting & every year since my arangetram, I’ve told myself that I’ll get back into dance. But for bharatnatyam, I never felt like there was a time, place, or community in adulthood I could do it. Because of Drasti & this intensive, I feel like a part of me that was missing, came back - stronger, more disciplined, more confident, and more determined than ever to make sure that this part doesn’t go missing again. And for that, I am forever grateful. Learning to dance again, with a body that hasn’t properly done so in 11 years, is hard work. But the love I have for myself is stronger now than it was when I was younger, and therefore the appreciation I have for my ability to dance again is also deeper. Drasti created such an open environment, which allowed everyone in the class to be vulnerable, open, accepting, and non judgmental. It was truly beautiful to find a virtual community in adulthood that shares such similar sentiments, which made the class even more special. Can’t wait to continue growing & learning with bharatnatyam & dance again. Cannot express my gratitude for Drasti & this class enough. She is an incredible teacher, whose passion is contagious (even through a screen!). Thank you for sharing your craft to others who share the same love for it.”
